Organizing is an invaluable tool!
|
 |
|
Our students face greater academic challenges today than we faced growing up. Teaching them straight-forward, solid
organizing techniques will build their success through middle-and high school, through higher education and into
life! At times, it's difficult for a parent to teach their own child these concepts, no matter how well-intentioned.
There may be time constraints or schedule conflicts, or maybe the challenge is in the communication between parent
and child. Bringing in an objective educator removes these barriers. I'll work primarily with your child in
organizing his or her space and time, and work with you as the parent to help reinforce these new techniques. As necessary,
we'll create new study spaces and habits, organize lockers and backpacks, and develop strong time management skills.

The gifted ADD child
|
 |
|
Ok, here comes the proud mom part: I have three amazingly gifted ADD children. My sons are in the "real
world", and my daughter is in elementary school. Same marriage, BIG age gap! Actually, I truly believe that
all ADD kids have a gift. Fortunately, the medical community and school systems have learned so much more about ADD
since my sons were young. ADDers tend to be of higher intelligence, more creative and better able to see the big picture.
Unfortunately, this knowledge doesn't necessarily allow for more time to help an ADD child with one of their biggest
challenges: organizing their time and space. I'll work with your child to develop creative, fun
systems that will change as their needs change, but still maintain the basic core organizing strategies that work best
for them.
